From the pages of National Review comes this very informative article on the catholic and Catholic churches.
The author writes:As an English Catholic, I find it remarkable that there are two churches that I consider as being essentially in conflict with one another.
The Catholic Church is the one that’s more of a conservative and evangelical church than the Protestant one.
The other is the catholics that are really more liberal and egalitarian in their theology.
There’s a tension there, and it’s one I’ve never been able to figure out how to get around.
And so it was with my first encounter with Catholicism.
The first time I went to see the pope was in 1998.
I was 14 years old, and I think it was a little over two years after I went back to England.
I remember the first time he was in the room, and he stood up and he said, “You know what?
I don’t really want to be here.”
He sat down and said, You know what, I’m leaving.
“I thought, “Oh, well, this is not going to work out.
“But then he just went on and said that he doesn’t really like me, he doesn to not want to talk to me.
I thought that was interesting.
And I remember thinking, He’s not really a fan of me, is he?
So then I went up to him and I said, Oh, I really really don’t like you.
He was just kind of looking at me and kind of trying to look away, but he said that I was just not in the right place.
And he said he really liked the church, and that he’s not here for me.
And then I was like, Oh.
You mean he really loves me, you know?
And I thought this is so strange.
And you know, I’ve been to so many churches, I know how they work.
You know, they are a lot of fun to go to, and the Catholic churches are very fun.
But then I realized what a strange place I had come to, because it’s such a weird thing to me, and this is such a strange church.
And it didn’t seem to me that I needed to come back.
I guess I’m not the only one.
I think this is kind of a classic problem of how we try to reconcile the church with the state.
You have two different kinds of churches.
You can’t be a Catholic without being a conservative evangelical.
But you can be a liberal Catholic without also being an evangelical.
And what’s really amazing about Catholicism is that it’s so much more liberal in its theology than the other churches.
And that’s the problem with Catholicism, because the churches are really just different forms of the same church.
They’re really just the same form of the church.
The only difference between the two is that they’re not the same.
And there’s this tension that arises between the church and the state in the Catholic world.
But I’m really interested in the Protestant churches because they are the one I feel the most kinship with, and because I don
