A Christian school in California has removed a student from his Bible-believers group after she refused to sing “The Lord’s prayer” and “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
The student’s mother told the Los Angeles Times the school’s principal told her to leave the group after the student refused to participate in the school prayer, and that the student was kicked out of the group and expelled.
The student told the newspaper that she was removed from the group because of her religious beliefs.
The school’s Catholic school is a private Christian school.
The Catholic school district in the city of Long Beach said in a statement that the students expulsion is “a matter of principle.”
