Gambian President Yahya Jammeh condemned mediation and said he will not step down.
He Said “I am not a coward. My right cannot be intimidated and violated. This is my position. Nobody can deprive me of that victory except the Almighty Allah
“Already the ECOWAS meeting was a formality. Before they came, they had already said Jammeh must step down. I will not step down
“Justice must be done and the only way justice can be done is to reorganise the election so that every Gambian votes. That’s the only way we can resolve the matter peacefully and fairly,” he said on television.
“Unless the court decides the case, there will be no inauguration (of president-elect Adama Barrow) on the 19 January,” said Jammeh,
However his party has lodged a complaint with the Supreme Court to overturn the December 1st election result.
