The Nigeria Federal Government has declared Monday, December 12, as public holiday to mark the Muslim festival Eid-El-Maulud (the birth of Prophet Mohammed).
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.
In a statement signed by the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, The Honorable Minister enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians at large to join hands and support President Muhammadu Buhari as he works tirelessly to deliver the promised change.
The Eid el Maulud celebration is always observed on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi’ al-awwal.
